This is a sketch from a commissioned painting I finished last month…as you can see I made a few slight adjustments but the overall composition and palette is the same in the finished painting below!
It’s a 2-panel piece, measuring 30” x 72” titled “Wild Mountain Honey”
My collectors wanted something vibrant and lively. They wanted something that would go with their current furnishings and transition into the changes they are planning on making to their interiors in the near future. I was able to visit their home in person and talk with them about their plans and also about the feeling they want to have in their space. After that I came up with several sketches of ideas, and we settled on the sketch above.
My commissions usually take a couple of months to complete, and I have about a 60-day wait list right now. Sometimes people are intimidated to ask about custom work, thinking it will be too expensive, but I price my commissioned pieces the same as my other work. If it’s something you’ve been considering, please don’t hesitate to give me a call or email…I’d be happy to answer any questions you have!
I love these juicy colors and think the painting(s) really liven up this room!
This is a great example of how a big and bold abstract painting can make a more traditional interior feel modern and fresh. Even though getting all new furniture is fun, sometimes you just need a big painting to brighten up your space!
