STUDIO UPDATE: February & March 2019
Laughter is the sun that drives Winter from the human face.
Wow, what a strange month this has been...February has flown by but we are still socked in a blanket of white and Arctic temperatures as we head into March! Definitely calls for a lot of laughter to balance things out (the body-shaking, cheek-aching, belly variety, please!)
I really can't complain, these cold days are great days to be working in the studio. The snow also brightens things up so much, even on a grey-sky day my studio is light and cheery. I have been busy making new work and I can't wait to share with you.
I also have a couple shows opening this Friday in Downtown Spokane I'd love to invite you to:
FRIDAY, MARCH 1
FRENCH TOAST HOME @ The Steam Plant
159 S Lincoln St
I'll be sharing a small collection of new abstractions on paper and a couple of larger abstract works on canvas. Treats provided, and the French Toast Boutique will be open for shopping too! I hope you can make it for the artist's reception, but the paintings will be up through the end of March and you can stop in any time to see them, Tuesday through Saturday 10-6, Sunday 10-4.
also on FRIDAY, MARCH 1
THE LOOKOUT @ Ladder Coffee Bldg
1516 W Riverside Ave
I'm so excited to partner with The Lookout for their grand opening this Friday! As part of their opening celebrations, I will be showing my 2018 abstractions collection, which you can purchase directly at The Lookout.
The Lookout is a brand new lifestyle boutique in downtown Spokane featuring the work of Inland Northwest makers and beautiful jewelry hand-made by Amy Dolomont. The owners, Amy, and her partner Alex, also own Ace Of Spades Farm aceofspadesfarm.com which is worth checking out if you don't know about them yet! (You've probably eaten their beautiful produce at the local restaurants they service or seen them at the Perry Street farmers' market in the summer! )
My abstractions will be up all month...as long as they last...and you can stop in and shop Tuesday through Saturday 10-6, Sunday 10-4.
I am still selling some of my original paintings through Serena & Lily, in fact 3 of my recent paintings are being featured in their design shops in the Hamptons, Summit NJ, and Westport CT. It's such an honor and they have been wonderful to work with!
I have made some changes to my website recently to include a CATALOGUE section. This is a visual list of my paintings over the years. Sadly, I am missing a fair amount of my earlier work due to a computer crash a few years ago. If you are the owner of a painting that you don't see on the list, I would love to add your photos to the group. Just email them to email@example.com
You can always follow my day-to-day process on INSTAGRAM @neicyfrey, and please feel free to tag your instagram photos of my work in your home, or around town (like the murals at Boots Bakery and the Ruby 2 Hotel!) with #byneicyfrey. It really helps me spread the word about my artwork and reach new collectors.
Hope to see you Friday, and thanks for following along and keeping in touch!
